Join the Kangaroo Club

We would be delighted if you would join us.

There is no fee, but we do ask that those can afford it make a donation of around £15 as a voluntary annual membership fee, to help with running costs, especially the cost of our annual Information Day. Any donation (less or more!) is very welcome.

We aim to make membership of the Kangaroo Club a way of easily exchanging information, between pouch owners but also the medical profession and drug companies.

We try to do this by the following means:

  • This Website. We aim to make it a useful and on-going source of information for anyone with, or considering, an ileo-anal pouch or a Kock pouch and their families.

  • Membership of Facebook Group. Please join by clicking here (there is also a link from the ‘Resources’ page). It is a private group, so the Group Admin needs to add you as member, following which you will be able to discuss anything with other members (discussions must of course adhere to the group guidelines). It is important to note however that this is only a support group, so if you need medical help and advice, you should consult a qualified medical professional.

  • Zoom Catch-ups. These are relaxed and informal discussions, led by what those attending want to discuss. Anyone with a pouch, or an interest in pouches is welcome to attend. The group meets on Zoom at 8 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every other month. For more information and to sign up please click here.

  • Email Communication. We email all members about information days, the informal Zoom discussion group dates, new information on the website and generally to keep them informed.

You will then be sent an email, asking you to confirm your membership, you will not become a member of the club until you have done so.

A note on donations:

Our fundraising page is hosted by Givey. Please be aware that because Givey don't deduct an administration fee from donations, they will charge a 5% transaction fee on top of your donation, so do take this into account.
